In a stunning act of hypocrisy, Texas Governor Perry apparently has decided to change his mind, realizing that Texas actually can't take care of itself:
Perry Requests Antiviral Medications From CDC
AUSTIN (April 25, 2009)—Gov. Rick Perry Saturday asked the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 37,430 courses of antiviral medications from the Strategic National Stockpile as a precaution after three cases of swine flu were confirmed in Texas.
I don't suppose we could simply tell him "NO" ...?
After all, wasn't he just grousing about how Texas didn't need the United States? About how much better Texans would have it if they weren't beholden to the Federal Government?
Looks like a couple cases of scary old pig flu and Perry goes running to Mommy.
What an ass.
We should tell him if Texas is so great, to make their own goddamn antiviral medication. Out of road-killed Armadillos and Shiner Bock perhaps.
I know this is short, and some may complain "that's not a diary!" but I just had to pass this along here.
It's just so screamingly typical of the GOP blowhards.
